Strengthening Emergency Preparedness & Response Across West Michigan
The West Michigan Regional Medical Consortium is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to being the premier agency for preparing healthcare organizations for disaster planning, mitigation, response, and recovery. We will work to continuously improve the Emergency Medical System in Muskegon County and lead in saving lives both locally and nationally through education, consultative services, exercise development, and response.

EMS System
Oversight
The MCA provides medical oversight, credentialing, and quality improvement for Muskegon County EMS. We ensure high standards of care through evidence-based protocols, education, and continuous system evaluation.
Disaster Planning & Preparedness
We assist hospitals, EMS agencies, and healthcare coalitions in developing, testing, and refining disaster response plans to strengthen community readiness and resilience across West Michigan.
Education &
Training
Our programs deliver continuing education, simulation, and skill validation opportunities for EMS clinicians and healthcare professionals, ensuring preparedness for every type of emergency.
SUPPORTING SERVICES
Consulting & Partnership
We provide technical expertise, planning support, and collaboration to healthcare, EMS, and community partners across West Michigan to improve coordination and resilience.

Emerge: Emergency Planning & Preparedness
The MCA provides medical oversight, credentialing, and quality improvement for Muskegon County EMS. We develop and implement evidence-based protocols, investigate complaints, and ensure that EMS agencies and clinicians meet the highest standards of patient care.
The Homeland Security Grant Program provides funding to strengthen local and regional response capabilities. Managed by WMRMC, the program supports equipment, training, and planning initiatives that improve resilience and disaster readiness.
Emerge offers accredited education, training, and consulting services for healthcare, EMS, and community organizations. From continuing education courses to corporate preparedness and tactical training, Emerge equips professionals with lifesaving skills.

Healthcare Coalition
Region 5 HCC brings together hospitals, EMS, public health, and emergency management partners to improve healthcare preparedness and response. The coalition strengthens coordination, resource sharing, and resilience across southwest Michigan communities.
Region 6 HCC coordinates healthcare and emergency partners across West Michigan to plan for and respond to disasters. Through training, exercises, and resource support, the coalition enhances readiness for hospitals, EMS, and community stakeholders.
Region 7 HCC unites healthcare, EMS, and public safety agencies across northern lower Michigan to support emergency preparedness. The coalition promotes collaboration, planning, and response strategies to protect patients and communities during crises.
